ALGALICIOUS is dedicated to the sustainable harvesting of wild seaweed from the cold, clean waters of the North Atlantic coast.
From the boat, we climb exposed rocks and harvest waist-high in the waves, taking care to leave enough plants for regeneration.
This process not only ensures that the best of the selected seaweed species are harvested, but is also gentle on the ecosystem.
The algae are hung in the sun where they dry within 36 hours.

Fucus serratus, also known as Serrated Wrack / Toothed Wrack / Saw Wrack, is an olive-brown algae found along the coasts of the North Atlantic.
It is highly prized for its fucoidan content. It contains up to 16% of the total dry weight!
Not only that, but it also contains the carotenoids fucoxanthin and beta-carotene, as well as vitamin E.
Traditionally it has been used to relieve pain, arthritis and rheumatism, as well as irritation from eczema and psoriasis.
The oils from this seaweed have truly remarkable effects on the skin, hair and body.
